BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Tuesday termed a notice issued to him by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with the Formula E case as an act of “political harassment,” alleging that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was using state machinery to settle political scores.
In a post on X, KTR revealed that he had been summoned by the ACB for an inquiry on May 28. However, he stated that he would be unable to attend due to a pre-scheduled foreign trip to the UK and USA but assured full cooperation upon his return.
“The ACB has given me a notice to appear for an enquiry on the 28th May in the Formula E case. As a law-abiding citizen, I will definitely cooperate… I will appear in front of them the moment I come back. Informed the same to ACB Officials in writing,” he posted.
KTR accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of orchestrating a campaign of vendetta. He called the notice “pure political harassment” and questioned the timing, linking it to recent developments in national politics.
“Revanth Reddy’s name appeared in the ED chargesheet just 48 hours ago in the National Herald case. Within 24 hours, he is seen cosying up to the BJP top brass, including PM Modi. Yet not a single BJP leader speaks against him,” KTR said.
He further mocked the CM’s leadership, stating, “He may fail as an administrator, a leader, and even as a human being. But he is proving himself in cheap vendetta politics. I know BRS scares him. So! Keep trying. Jai Telangana.”
BRS senior leader Harish Rao also came out in support of KTR, calling the case “fabricated” and accusing the Congress-led state government of resorting to political vendetta.
“Revanth Reddy’s vendetta politics is a clear sign of insecurity. Fabricated cases won’t stand in court or win public trust. We stand with KTR. Truth will prevail. Satyameva Jayate!” Harish Rao posted on X.
The ACB notice relates to alleged irregularities in the organization of the Hyderabad Formula E event, a high-profile motorsport race held during the previous BRS regime. The case has become yet another flashpoint in the intensifying political rivalry between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS in Telangana.
